2. Accessing the website
Technically necessary connection data is processed when the website is delivered. This may include IP address, time, requested resource and browser information. Processing supports secure and functional delivery. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interests in operation, security and abuse prevention.
3. Contact
When you submit the contact form, we process your name, company name, email address, optional phone number, selected topic and the content of your message in order to handle your enquiry. Depending on the context, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps prior to entering into a contract or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. We use Resend, a service provided by Plus Five Five, Inc. in the United States, for technical email delivery. This may involve processing personal data in the United States. The provider makes a data processing agreement and EU Standard Contractual Clauses available for possible international transfers. Which safeguards are required in a specific case depends on the configuration used and the actual processing. Please do not initially submit confidential documents or special categories of personal data through the form.
4. Display preference
With your consent, we save your light or dark appearance on your device in local browser storage (Local Storage, “wiescher-theme”). Without consent, your selection applies only to the current page. You can change or withdraw consent at any time under “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawal removes the saved appearance. We store your privacy decision with a timestamp and version under “wiescher-consent” for 180 days, then ask again. These entries are not used for analytics or advertising.
5. Workbook and optional newsletter
We use your name and email address to provide the requested free workbook under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Email ownership requires an explicit confirmation click. Your personal download expires exactly seven days after issuance. Our existing email service delivers the messages. Contacts are kept in our tenant-separated shared customer system. Unconfirmed requests are removed after 30 days when the service is next used; expired access records are removed after a further 30 days. Abuse prevention uses short-lived hashed network identifiers. Personal access tokens are excluded from analytics and access logs.
Newsletter subscription is separate and optional, based on consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. It becomes effective only after a separate email and explicit confirmation. We retain the consent text, timestamps, confirmation and withdrawal as evidence. Withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing or workbook access. Evidence is retained only as needed to demonstrate consent or defend claims; contact data follows our general deletion policy.
5a. Optional Meta advertising measurement
Optional advertising measurement by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, stays off until you actively and separately consent in cookie settings. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG. If enabled, page views, IP addresses and browser information may be transferred to Meta, including in the USA. We send no names, email addresses or personal download tokens and do not enable automatic customer matching. Personal access pages never use advertising measurement. Your choice is saved for 180 days. Reject or withdraw in cookie settings at any time; downloading remains available. Browser tracking opt-out signals are respected.
6. Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or legal obligations. Enquiries are deleted after completion unless retention duties apply.
7. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
